A Hot Air Balloon Glow, 5K Nite-Glow Run/Walk, KidZone, Battle of the Bands and fireworks are just part of the fun scheduled for ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s first annual WarriorFest on Friday, April 8, on the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ campus in Decatur.
 
The event designed for all ages will be from 6 p.m. to Midnight on the north end of campus near the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Pavilion and Lake area.
 

Late inning runs allowed NJCAA Division I Shelton State Community College to sweep the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Diamond Warriors in a baseball doubleheader Tuesday, March 8, in Tuscaloosa.
 
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s overall record falls to 12-6 on the season.
 
In game one, the Diamond Warriors took the lead early scoring one run in the top of the second. Shelton State responded in the bottom of the second with a run of their own.
 

Big hits in game two helped the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ softball team split a doubleheader against Pearl River Community College in Poplarville Tuesday, March 8.
 
In game one, ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ was unable to get on the scoreboard, losing 1-0. PRCC’s lone run came on a walk and an East Central error in the bottom of the third inning.
 
Sophomore Lacey Hill out of Kilbourne (La.) High School had a strong outing in the circle for the Lady Diamond Warriors, surrendering no earned runs and four hits, while striking out 10 batters in six innings of work.
 

ecc tierra robinsonTierra Robinson has joined the Office of Public Information at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ in Decatur as sports information/communications specialist.
 
Robinson assumed the newly created position on Feb. 15.
 

​Four ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors and one Warrior were named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges All-State basketball teams announced Monday, March 7, 2016.
 
Sophomore guard/forward Prince McDaniel out of Pascagoula High School was named to the MACJC Men’s All-State South Division Second Team.
 
McDaniel averaged a team-high of 14.9 points per game. He also averaged 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
 

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Diamond Warriors swept a softball doubleheader from MACJC conference foe Coahoma Community College on Saturday, March 5, in Clarksdale.
 
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ improved its overall record to 18-3 and 2-2 in MACJC play.
 
In a high-scoring game one, the Lady Diamond Warriors won 13-0, with 10 of those runs coming in their first three at-bats.
 
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ put up three runs in the first and five in the second inning en route to the five inning, run-rule game.
 

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ baseball team defeated Itawamba Community College in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 5, at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur. 
 
The Diamond Warriors won 13-1 in the seven-inning game one win. 
 
Two big innings propelled East Central in game one. ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ took the early lead after scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Diamond Warriors then added six more runs in the fifth to push the lead to 10-0.
 

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors beat Marion Military Institute 6-3 in a tennis match played March 4 on the Decatur campus.
