A desperation shot at the buzzer that bounced off the rim was all that kept the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Warriors from handing the No. 9 ranked Pearl River Wildcats their first defeat of the season in basketball action Monday, Feb. 4. The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors also fell, losing 61-56 to the PRCC Lady Wildcats at Marvin R. White Coliseum in Poplarville.
It was a big turnaround for the Warriors in the 72-70 loss to the undefeated Wildcats. Pearl River defeated East Central by 33 in Decatur back on Jan. 10.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Warrior football program will host an open tryout for offensive and defensive linemen on Friday, Feb. 8, at Bailey Stadium on the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ campus in Decatur.
Those offensive and defensive linemen interested in trying out for the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ football team should report to the stadium for registration at 10 a.m. The tryouts will begin at 10:30 a.m. There is no cost to tryout.
Prospective players should bring their own cleats and gear to workout in.

The spring 2019 tennis season opened in style for ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ as both the men’s and women’s teams picked up wins on the road against Marion Military Institute in Marion, Ala., Friday, Feb. 1.
The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Warriors shutout the No. 17 nationally ranked Marion Tigers 9-0, while the Lady Warriors picked up an 8-1 tennis win over the shorthanded Marion Lady Tigers.

Registration is underway at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ in Decatur for Spring 2019 Intensive Term II on-campus and online courses.
The last day to register for Spring 2019 Intensive Term II on-campus courses is Thursday, Feb 28. Classes begin on Wednesday, Feb. 27, and end May 2.
Among the classes offered include Introduction to Business, English Composition I, General Physical Education, College Algebra, and Calculus II.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ will hold its annual Black History Month program Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, on the Decatur campus.
Activities begin at 7 p.m. in the Vickers Fine Arts Center auditorium.
There is no charge for admission.
Philadelphia Mayor James Young will serve as guest speaker.
The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Gospel Choir sponsors the Black History Program and will also perform.
