ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Men’s Tennis Tops No. 18 Marion Military

After a week of competition against nationally ranked opponents, the No. 17 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s tennis team picked up a win over visiting No. 18 Marion Military Institute Saturday, April 8, at the Tennis Complex on the Decatur campus.

After losses to No. 19 Co-Lin and No. 18 Mississippi Gulf Coast earlier in the week, the Warriors knocked off Marion 6-3.

The East Central women fell to No. 14 Marion Military women 9-0.

Tennis Teams Drop Matches to Nationally Ranked Copiah-Lincoln

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis teams started a three match journey against ranked opponents by dropping close matches to the No. 19 ranked Copiah-Lincoln Community College men and the No. 25 ranked Co-Lin women.

The matches were played Wednesday, April 5, at the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Complex in Decatur.

The No. 17 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men lost 6-3 and fell to 10-5 on the season. The East Central women lost 5-4 and are now 7-8 on the year.

East Central Tennis Teams Sweep Holmes for Second Time

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis teams swept Holmes Community College for this second time this spring season in matches played Tuesday, April 4, in Goodman.

The No. 17 ranked Warriors defeated the Bulldogs 7-2, while the regionally ranked Lady Warriors won 9-0. The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men are now 10-4 on the season, while the women are 7-7.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Teams Rebound from Losses to Sweep Holmes

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis teams rebounded from losses to nationally ranked Meridian teams earlier in the week to sweep Holmes Community College by identical 9-0 scores in matches played Friday, March 24, at the new Tennis Complex in Decatur.

The No. 17 ranked Warriors improved their record to 7-4 on the season, while the Lady Warriors improved to 5-6.
