ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Teams Fall to Nationally Ranked Meridian

The nationally ranked Meridian Community College tennis teams swept matches from the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s teams at the Tennis Complex in Decatur March 22.

The No. 20 ranked Meridian women defeated the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors 9-0, while the No. 13 Meridian men beat the No.17 East Central Warriors 9-0. The East Central women are now 4-6 overall on the season and the men are 6-4.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Sweeps ICC in First Action at New Tennis Complex

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis teams opened the new Tennis Complex on the Decatur campus in style Friday, March 10, with both teams recording wins over visiting Itawamba Community College.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ women defeated Itawamba 7-2 to improve to 4-4 on the season. The East Central men won 6-3 to improve their record to 5-3.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Complex to Temporarily Close for Surface Work

The new Tennis Complex at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ in Decatur will temporarily close beginning Friday evening, March 10, while new logos are applied to the playing surfaces.

The courts, located on the north end of campus between the softball and baseball complexes, will reopen on Monday, March 20.

Local tennis players are invited to use the old ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ tennis courts during that time. Those courts are located on North 6th Avenue adjacent to the Vickers Fine Arts Center.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Men’s Tennis Team Knocks Off No. 17 Co-Lin in Wesson

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis teams continued their journey on the road, this time in Wesson where the No. 22 ranked Warrior men’s team knocked off the No. 17 Copiah-Lincoln Wolves in a tight 5-4 match Wednesday, Feb. 15.

It was the Warriors third win this year against a top 25 opponent.

The East Central women fell to the Lady Wolves 7-2.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men are now 3-1 on the season, while the women are 1-3.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Teams Sweep Nationally Ranked Hinds

February 10, 2017

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis teams were on the road again Thursday, Feb. 9, and brought home wins against two nationally ranked Hinds Community College teams.

The East Central men, ranked No. 22 in the most recent ITA rankings, beat the No. 24 ranked Hinds Eagles 6-3. The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ women defeated the No. 21 ranked Hinds Lady Eagles 5-4.
