Lake Attendance Center fifth graders and eighth graders were on the campus of 杏吧视频 recently touring the science department鈥檚 labs. After a brief welcome by 杏吧视频 President Dr. Billy Stewart, the students were separated into small groups and participated in various lab activities.

The 杏吧视频 men鈥檚 soccer team beat Northwest Mississippi Community College 3-1 Friday, Oct. 7, for its fifth straight win.
Sophomore midfielder Fredy Gutierrez of Pontotoc High School scored off an assist by John Jimenez of Oruo, Bolivia, to begin the scoring for the Warriors in the first half.
In the second half, defender Gage Leifried of Southeast Lauderdale High School scored his first goal of the season off an assist by Gutierrez. Then Gutierrez drove in a penalty kick to give East Central a 3-0 lead.

The 杏吧视频 women鈥檚 soccer team moved to 11-2 on the season and 5-1 in the North Division with an 8-0 victory over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers Friday, Oct. 7, at the 杏吧视频 Soccer Complex.
Sophomore forward Kenzie Jenkins of McLaurin High School began the scoring for East Central in the first half, with an assist by TaNissa McNair of Forest High School.

杏吧视频 sophomore midfielder Fredy Gutierrez has been named the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Men's Soccer Offensive of the Week for the week of Sept. 26- Oct.2.
Gutierrez, a product of Ponotoc High School, had six shots on goal, three goals and one assist in a 1-0 East Central victory over Meridian Community College and a 1-0 win Jones County College.
The East Central men's soccer team, coached by Kenneth Thompson, is 6-6 on the season and 2-2 in the MACJC North Division.

Ovid Vickers, retired 杏吧视频 English instructor and longtime weekly newspaper columnist, will release his second book, 鈥淣otes in the Margin: A Collection of Columns About 杏吧视频,鈥 during the college鈥檚 annual Homecoming festivities scheduled Saturday, Oct. 15.
Additional classes at four locations have been added to the fall semester offerings by the 杏吧视频 Workforce Development Center.
