The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis teams dropped home matches Saturday, March 3, against nationally ranked teams from Jones County Junior College.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ in Decatur will be closed for its annual Spring Break Holidays Monday through Friday, March 12-16.

The college will reopen on Monday morning, March 19.

The No. 10 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors lost a pair of softball games to No. 2 Jones County Junior College in MACJC conference action Wednesday, Feb. 28, on the JCJC campus in Ellisville.

The Jones County Lady Bobcats scored two early runs in the opener and then held on for a 2-1 win over East Central. Jones County won the nightcap 9-1 in six innings.

East Central’s record is now 11-3 overall on the season and 0-2 in MACJC action. Jones County improved to 15-1 and 2-0.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Baseball Warriors got the second walk-off hit of the season from freshman Ken Scott for a dramatic 6-5 win in the nightcap and a doubleheader sweep over the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur.

East Central scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning of game one and then held on for a 7-6 win.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ women’s tennis team improved its spring record to 2-1 Friday, Feb. 23, with a 9-0 win at Itawamba Community College in Fulton.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men lost a tough 6-3 match to the ICC Indians to fall to 0-3 on the season.

Matches scheduled later that afternoon in New Albany against Blue Mountain College were canceled due to weather.
