The No. 12 nationally ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Warrior softball team began its 10-game spring break schedule with a pair of doubleheader sweeps March 10 and 11.
The Lady Warriors swept Coahoma Community College in Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges action Friday, March 10, at the Softball Park in Decatur. ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ won the first game by run rule 16-2 and then took the nightcap 8-1.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s tennis teams opened the new Tennis Complex on the Decatur campus in style Friday, March 10, with both teams recording wins over visiting Itawamba Community College.
The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ women defeated Itawamba 7-2 to improve to 4-4 on the season. The East Central men won 6-3 to improve their record to 5-3.

A late inning run in game two allowed the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ to sweep NJCAA Division I Shelton State Community College in a baseball doubleheader Wednesday, March 8, at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur.
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ’s overall record improved to 12-2 on the season.

The No. 1 ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats swept the No. 12 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Diamond Warriors in a softball doubleheader in Ellisville on Wednesday, March 8, by scores of 4-3 and 9-1.
The Lady Diamond Warriors overall record fell to 13-3 on the season and 0-2 in Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges play. Jones County improved to 13-0 overall and 2-0 in league play.

The new Tennis Complex at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ in Decatur will temporarily close beginning Friday evening, March 10, while new logos are applied to the playing surfaces.
The courts, located on the north end of campus between the softball and baseball complexes, will reopen on Monday, March 20.
Local tennis players are invited to use the old ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ tennis courts during that time. Those courts are located on North 6th Avenue adjacent to the Vickers Fine Arts Center.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s basketball team could not hold on to an early lead against Northeast Mississippi Community College and was eliminated from the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament 70-64 March 8 at Mississippi College in Clinton.
Northeast, the defending NJCAA Region 23 champions, also defeated the Warriors in last week’s MACJC State Tournament.
The Warriors never trailed in the first half, leading by as many as 13 points. East Central took a 38-31 lead into the locker room.

The No. 8 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ baseball team moved to 10-2 on the season with a doubleheader sweep over Bishop State Community College Saturday, March 4, in Mobile.
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ won the opener 5-3 and the finished the sweep with a 9-1 nightcap victory.
In game one, East Central jumped out to an early lead scoring three runs in the fourth inning and adding another in the top of the fifth.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ students will have a new career option beginning with the fall 2017 semester as the college implements a program in Automation and Control Technology, pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
