Chris Clark, head golf coach at 杏吧视频 in Decatur since 2011, has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Golf Co-Coach of the Year for 2017-18.

The 杏吧视频 Warriors could not get the bats going against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Wednesday, May 2, as the Bulldogs swept an MACJC doubleheader at Ken 鈥淐urly鈥 Farris Field in Perkinston.
East Central managed just two hits in a 9-1 eight-inning loss to Gulf Coast in the opener and five hits in the 5-2 nightcap loss.
With the losses, East Central is now 29-15 overall on the season and 16-10 in MACJC league play. The Gulf Coast Bulldogs improved to 31-13 overall and 15-11 in the league.

杏吧视频 will host its annual Kids鈥 College program June 11-15 and June 18-22 on the Decatur campus.
The annual event, which features numerous courses and combines fun and learning for ages 5-12, costs $50 per class and includes a Kids鈥 College T-shirt for each participant.

Numerous 杏吧视频 career and technical students took top honors in the Mississippi SkillsUSA competition held recently in Jackson. Those receiving first place honors will represent Mississippi and compete at the National Skills and Leadership Conference in Louisville, Ky., in June.

杏吧视频鈥檚 Theta Chi chapter of Phi Beta Lambda is the largest community college chapter in the nation, and third largest among all two-year and four-year institutions, the organization recently learned.
According to Christy Ferguson, 杏吧视频 business and office technology instructor and PBL advisor, there are more than 500 PBL chapters on college campuses across the United States. East Central鈥檚 chapter has 178 members, which is the largest membership in the chapter鈥檚 history.

The No. 11 杏吧视频 Lady Warrior softball team will face No. 4 ranked Jones County Junior College in its opening game of the 2018 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges State Tournament in Fulton.
No. 3 Seed East Central and No. 2 Seed Jones County will play at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 4.
No. 3 ranked Itawamba Community College is the top seed and tournament host. The Lady Indians will play No. 5 Seed Pearl River Community College at 4 p.m. on the opening day.

The 杏吧视频 baseball program is hosting two Summer Team Camps in June for commuters and overnight campers.
Session one of 杏吧视频鈥檚 Team Baseball Summer Camp is June 4-6, while session two is scheduled for June 6-8. Check-in for both sessions 1 p.m. on the first day and check-out is 8 a.m. on the final morning. Both camps will be at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex on the campus in Decatur.
