The 杏吧视频 Workforce Development Center will offer 鈥淭echnology for Teachers: Google Classroom,鈥 beginning Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019 at the Philadelphia/Neshoba County Career-Technical Center, located at 900 Valley View Drive in Philadelphia.
The class will meet from 4 to 7 p.m. for 10 consecutive Tuesday nights. Lacie Flake will serve as instructor. The cost is $60 per person.

The 杏吧视频 Small Business Development Center will offer a free seminar on 鈥淔irst Steps-The Process of Starting a Small Business鈥 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2019, in the Workforce Development Center, located at 52 9th Street on the 杏吧视频 campus in Decatur.
This seminar will include basic steps in starting your own business. Topics will include licenses and permits, legal forms of ownership, basic marketing concepts, lending terminology and outlining a business plan.

The 杏吧视频 tennis program is hosting its third Woods and Whites Doubles Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Tennis Complex on the 杏吧视频 campus in Decatur.
The Woods and Whites event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $25 per player, payable at the event. All proceeds support the 杏吧视频 men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 tennis programs and facilities.

Both the 杏吧视频 men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 tennis teams along with five players from each team have been recognized for academic success by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above.
The 杏吧视频 tennis teams were one of only 10 men鈥檚 and 10 women鈥檚 community and junior college teams in the nation recognized with the team award.

Andrew Weir, a May 2019 graduate of 杏吧视频, has been selected to participate in the undergraduate portion of the Mississippi Rural Dentists Scholarship Program (MRDSP).
A native of Newton and graduate of Newton County High School, Weir is currently a junior at Mississippi College. He is the son of Sam and Karla Weir of Newton.

杏吧视频 will host two Preview Days in August for dual credit high school students.
The Preview Days, designed to introduce the high school students to 杏吧视频 and college life, will be Thursday, Aug. 1, and Friday, Aug. 2, on the campus in Decatur. Dual credit students who are already registered for the dual credit classes can come and go anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on either day. Both events will be held at the Smith Student Union Building.

The Early Childhood Academy at 杏吧视频 will hold an Open House to start the new school year from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.
The event for area schoolteachers and schoolchildren will feature free backpacks with supplies (while supplies last), gift bags, door prizes, and refreshments.
