ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Comes Up Short In Matches at Jones

For the second time this spring season, the nationally ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ tennis teams faced off against other ranked teams when they traveled to Ellisville for matches with Jones College Friday, Feb. 28.

The No. 19 ranked Jones women defeated the No. 20 East Central Lady Warriors 5-4, while the No. 20 Bobcats defeated the No. 21 Warriors 8-1.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Sets Dates for Cheerleader Clinics, Tryouts

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ in Decatur will hold tryouts for the 2020-21 Cheerleading Squad from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, April 4, in the South Campus Gymnasium.

There is a $25 fee for all participants.

Pre-tryout clinics will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. March 30-31 and April 2, also in the South Campus Gymnasium. During these sessions, participants will learn the cheer, fight song routine, and stunts necessary for tryouts. Those wishing to tryout must attend at least one clinic.

ECCC Football Tryouts Rescheduled for Feb. 27

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Warrior football program has rescheduled its open tryouts until Thursday, Feb. 27, at Bailey Stadium on the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ campus in Decatur.

Weather caused the postponement of the tryouts originally scheduled for Feb. 26.

Those football players interested in trying out for the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ football team should report to the stadium for registration at 10 a.m. The tryouts will begin at 10:30 a.m. There is no cost to tryout.

Prospective players should bring their own cleats and gear to workout in.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Softball Wins 2 in Rush Invitational Tournament

The No. 14 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors compiled a 2-2 record over the two-day Rush Invitational Softball Tournament Feb. 22-23 in Meridian.

The games were played at Northeast Park Softball Complex in Meridian.

East Central is now 6-2 overall on the season.

The Lady Warriors opened the tournament Saturday morning with a 12-2, five-inning win over Parkland College out of Champaign, Ill.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Teams Get Road Sweep Over MACJC Foe Itawamba

The No. 21 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s tennis team avenged a season-opening loss to Itawamba with a 5-4 win, while the No. 20 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors defeated the Itawamba Lady Indians 7-2 for the second time this season in matches played Friday, Feb. 21, on the ICC campus in Fulton.

With the win, the Lady Warriors are now 4-2 on the season and the Warriors are 2-3. The Itawamba men are now 3-3, while the Lady Indians are 0-5.

The two teams opened the season back on Jan. 31 with matches on the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ campus.
