The No. 21 ranked 杏吧视频 men鈥檚 tennis team avenged a season-opening loss to Itawamba with a 5-4 win, while the No. 20 杏吧视频 Lady Warriors defeated the Itawamba Lady Indians 7-2 for the second time this season in matches played Friday, Feb. 21, on the ICC campus in Fulton.
With the win, the Lady Warriors are now 4-2 on the season and the Warriors are 2-3. The Itawamba men are now 3-3, while the Lady Indians are 0-5.
The two teams opened the season back on Jan. 31 with matches on the 杏吧视频 campus.
鈥淚t was an outstanding victory for the men against a very talented team,鈥 杏吧视频 head tennis coach Jay Pacelli said. 鈥淭here were some gutsy wins, and we played our best doubles of the young season at No. 1 and No. 2. The ladies continue to put wins together. Josie Hurst and Ali Grace Walker are hitting their stride in doubles, and Marla Graham continues outstanding singles play.鈥

The East Central teams are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 22, hosting Holmes at 11 a.m. at the Tennis Complex on campus. Hinds will visit East Central for matches Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m.
