After falling behind by seven points at the half, the �Ӱ���Ƶ men’s basketball team fought back to beat Meridian Community College 80-74 Monday, Feb. 6, in Meridian.

The Warriors put up 50 points in the second half to earn the road victory.

Sophomore Tonzell Handy out of Lanier High School posted a double-double performance with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Cayman “C.J.” Ruffin of Neshoba Central High School finished with 12 points and Jaylon Bardley of New Hope High School added 11 points and four steals.

The �Ӱ���Ƶ women’s basketball team fought off a Meridian Community College second half surge to beat MCC 78-74 Monday, Feb. 6, in Meridian.

The Lady Warriors led by double-digits most of the contest, and by as many as 16 in the first half, but the Lady Eagles battled back to trail by just one with 55 seconds left in the game.

The �Ӱ���Ƶ men’s tennis team opened its 2017 season with a convincing 6-3 upset over No. 15 nationally ranked Marion Military Institute in a match played Friday, Feb. 3, in Marion, Ala.

�Ӱ���Ƶ head football coach Ken Karcher announced the addition of 17 new members to the Warrior football team on National Signing Day Wednesday, Feb. 1.

The newcomers include 16 high school seniors and one four-year college transfer.
