ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ sophomore outfielder Olivia Houston was today named the MACJC Softball Player of the Week for March 9-15 after an explosive outing at the plate in a sweep over Marion Military Institute (Ala.) March 10 at the Softball Park in Decatur.

A walk-off single by sophomore left fielder Olivia Houston helped the No. 14 East Central Lady Warriors survive a wild afternoon at the Softball Park in Decatur Tuesday, March 10, and earn a doubleheader sweep over the Marion Military Lady Tigers.
Houston’s single helped the Lady Warriors win the nightcap 8-7 after winning game one 18-14 on an afternoon that saw 47 runs, 44 hits, and 11 home runs by both teams combined.
With the wins, East Central improves to 14-4 on the season. The visitors from Marion, Ala., are 18-11.

The No. 16 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Warriors came out swinging at the Hinds Community College Softball Tournament Feb. 29, exploding for 38 runs on 36 hits to defeat Marion Military Institute and No. 6 LSU-Eunice in play at Quarry Park in Brandon.

The Marion Military Lady Tigers won a walk-off 8-7 game in the nightcap to finish off a softball sweep of the No. 16 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Warriors Thursday, Feb. 27, in Marion, Ala.
Marion Military won the opener 7-3.
East Central is now 6-4 overall on the season. Marion is 10-7.

The No. 14 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Warriors compiled a 2-2 record over the two-day Rush Invitational Softball Tournament Feb. 22-23 in Meridian.
The games were played at Northeast Park Softball Complex in Meridian.
East Central is now 6-2 overall on the season.
The Lady Warriors opened the tournament Saturday morning with a 12-2, five-inning win over Parkland College out of Champaign, Ill.

A day after sweeping its season-opening doubleheader against Coastal Alabama-North, the No. 15 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ softball team traveled north Sunday, Feb. 16, to compete in a couple of games in the Northeast Mississippi Community College TigerFest held in Booneville.
