No. 8 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Softball Drops Doubleheader at No. 11 Itawamba

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors came up on the short end of a doubleheader matching two nationally ranked softball teams as Itawamba Community College took the sweep Friday, March 9, on the ICC campus in Fulton.

The No. 11 ICC Lady Indians took the opener 6-3 and came back to take game two 4-0.

With the losses, No. 8 East Central’s record fell to 14-6 overall on the season and 3-5 in MACJC action. Itawamba is now 17-3 overall and 8-0 in the league.

No. 10 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Softball Falls in Doubleheader Action at No. 2 Jones County

The No. 10 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors lost a pair of softball games to No. 2 Jones County Junior College in MACJC conference action Wednesday, Feb. 28, on the JCJC campus in Ellisville.

The Jones County Lady Bobcats scored two early runs in the opener and then held on for a 2-1 win over East Central. Jones County won the nightcap 9-1 in six innings.

East Central’s record is now 11-3 overall on the season and 0-2 in MACJC action. Jones County improved to 15-1 and 2-0.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s Oswalt Tosses No Hitter as Lady Warriors Grab Softball Sweep

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s Kaitlyn Oswalt threw a five-inning no hitter in game one to propel the Lady Warriors to a softball sweep over the Coastal Alabama-East Warhawks Thursday, Feb. 15, in Brewton, Ala.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors won game one 10-0. East Central won game two 9-0 in five innings as sophomore pitcher Mackenzie Rousseau gave up just one hit over four innings before Anna Norris (Grove Oak, Ala., Geraldine) pitched the final inning. The Lady Warriors picked up 26 hits in the two games.

East Central Softball Splits Road Doubleheader at Marion Military

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warrior softball team scored twice in the top of the eighth inning to grab a 5-4 second game win over Marion Military Institute Monday, Feb. 12, and salvage a doubleheader split with the Lady Tigers.

Marion Military won the opener 9-1 in the doubleheader played in Marion, Ala.

East Central, ranked No. 10 in the NJCAA Division II Softball Poll, is now 3-1 overall on the season. Division I Marion Military is 6-4.
