The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ basketball teams suffered a couple of double-digit losses to Southwest on Monday, Jan. 27, in MACJC South Division basketball action in Summit.
The East Central Warriors trailed from start to finish in dropping an 84-68 decision to the Bears, while the Southwest Lady Bears picked up a 61-51 win over the Lady Warriors.

Just a day after being named the MACJC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ sophomore guard Jariyah Covington added to her honors by being selected as the National Junior College Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Division I Player of the Week.
Covington, who prepped at Starkville High School, averaged 23.5 points per contest as the Lady Warriors split a pair of games during the Jan. 13-19 period.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ basketball teams made the short drive east on I-20 to face MACJC South Division rival Meridian Community College Tuesday, Jan. 21, and came home with a pair of losses.
The Meridian Lady Eagles used a decisive fourth period to pick up a 61-46 win over the Lady Warriors in the opener, while the Eagles came out on top with a hard-fought 87-82 win over the Warriors in the men’s action.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ basketball teams opened the 2020 portion of their seasons with a pair of MACJC South Division road losses at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville on Thursday, Jan. 9.
The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors fell in the opener 54-45, while the Warriors lost to the No. 4 ranked Wildcats 100-64.
