It was a tight battle in Poplarville on Monday night as the Lady Warriors went toe-to-toe with the Lady Wildcats of Pearl River in the 2021 season opener. Pearl River escaped Marvin R. White Coliseum with a 63-54 victory after rallying in the second half to get the win.

After an unprecedented 11-month hiatus, the East Central Lady Warriors are finally ready to take to the court for the start of the 2021 season. The team wrapped up last year with a 10-13 overall record, but with six sophomores on the roster for 2021, the team is ready to compete in the always-competitive MACCC.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Warriors completed the season sweep of the Hinds Lady Bulldogs with a 62-57 win Monday, Feb. 17, while the Warriors fell to the Bulldogs for the second time this season, this time by a score of 73-68.
The games were played at J.D. Boyd Gym on Hinds’ Utica campus.
Sophomore guard Jariyah Covington (Starkville) led the Lady Warriors with 15 points, while sophomore guard Mylisha Hammond (McComb) added 10.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ basketball teams got back in the win column with a sweep of the teams from Meridian Community College Thursday, Feb. 13, in Brackeen-Wood Gym on the campus in Decatur.

Jones College completed the season basketball sweep of ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ with a pair of wins Monday, Feb. 10, on their home court of A.B. Howard Gymnasium in Ellisville.
The No. 10 Jones Lady Bobcats won the opener over the Lady Warriors 72-59. The Jones Bobcats picked up a 93-65 win over the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Warriors in the second game of the night.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Warriors got 20 points from freshman guard Kareem Thompson and 18 from sophomore forward JaQuarius Smith to earn a hard-fought 79-76 overtime win and season sweep over the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves Thursday, Feb. 6, in Brackeen-Wood Gym on the campus in Decatur. The Co-Lin Lady Wolves prevailed over the cold shooting Lady Warriors 62-44 in the women’s game.
