For the first time in program history, both the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s tennis teams will open the spring season with a national ranking.
The Lady Warriors are No. 20 in the first Oracle/ITA JUCO Women’s Top 25 Poll of the season released Jan. 23 and No 7 in Region III. The Warriors are No. 21 in the men’s poll and No. 8 in Region III.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s tennis players combined to win 22 matches over a three-day period while competing individually in the ITA Southern Regionals Sept. 26-28 at the Northeast Park Tennis Center in Meridian.
East Central sophomore Chris Lawrance (York, Western Australia) made it to the Singles Finals, while Lawrance and doubles partner sophomore Isaac Santitto (Innisfail, Queensland, Australia) advanced to the Doubles Finals.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ tennis program is hosting its third Woods and Whites Doubles Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Tennis Complex on the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ campus in Decatur.
The Woods and Whites event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $25 per player, payable at the event. All proceeds support the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s tennis programs and facilities.

Both the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s tennis teams along with five players from each team have been recognized for academic success by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above.
The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ tennis teams were one of only 10 men’s and 10 women’s community and junior college teams in the nation recognized with the team award.

Both the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s tennis teams are ranked in the final Oracle/ITA National Junior College Athletic Association Top 25 poll of the spring season.
The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men are ranked No. 19 in the nation after competing in the NJCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championship earlier this month, while the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Warriors are ranked No. 24.

What is believed to be the first ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ tennis team to compete at a national championship, the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s tennis team returned to Decatur after reaching its goal of a top 20 finish.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s tennis teams completed their seasons in the 2019 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges State/National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 Tournament held April 10-12 in Tupelo.
The East Central men finished in sixth in the nine-team field, while the No. 25 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ women finished in fourth place and one spot short of qualifying for the national tournament.
