ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Hosting Fourth Woods & Whites Doubles Fundraiser Nov. 14

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ tennis program is hosting its fourth Woods & Whites Doubles Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Tennis Complex on the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ campus in Decatur.

The Woods & Whites event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $30 per player, payable at the event. All proceeds support the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis programs and facilities.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s Walker Named ITA’s National Most Improved JUCO Sophomore Women’s Tennis Player

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s Ali Grace Walker today was named the nation’s Most Improved JUCO Sophomore Women’s Tennis Player by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The announcement was made during the ITA’s virtual awards ceremony on Friday, May 29.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Teams Finish Abbreviated Season with National Rankings

Although their seasons were cut short due to the Coronavirus, the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis teams both are included in the final Oracle/ITA JUCO Top 25 polls.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men are ranked No. 20 in the most recent poll and third among Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges men’s teams.

East Central Tennis Teams Drop 5-4 Matches to Jones

Four nationally ranked tennis teams hit the courts at the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Complex Tuesday, March 10, with the men’s and women’s teams from Jones College each claiming 5-4 wins over the teams from ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ.

With the losses, the No. 20 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors are now 8-4 on the season and the Warriors are 7-5. The No. 19 Jones Lady Bobcats remain undefeated at 11-0, while the No. 20 Bobcats improve to 11-2.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Teams Sweep Second Straight Conference Matches

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s tennis teams picked up their second MACJC conference sweep in as many days with a pair of wins at Copiah-Lincoln in Wesson on Friday, March 6.

The No. 20 East Central Lady Warriors defeated the No. 25 ranked Co-Lin Lady Wolves 7-2, while the Warriors defeated the Wolves 8-1.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors are now 8-3 on the season and the Warriors are 7-4.
