East Central Baseball Gets First Sweep of Season at Coastal Alabama-South

Rain continues to play havoc on the home baseball schedule for ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ, but the Warriors found Stanley James Baseball Park on the campus of Coastal Alabama-South to their liking in picking up their first sweep of the season Tuesday, March 12, in Bay Minette, Ala.

East Central beat the Coastal Alabama-South Sun Chiefs 8-6 in the nine-inning opener and then followed that with an 11-9 seven-inning win in game two.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Warriors Shutout Co-Lin, Lady Warriors Drop 7-2 Match

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s tennis team shutout the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves 9-0 for the second time this season, while the East Central Lady Warriors dropped a 7-2 match to the No. 22 ranked Co-Lin Lady Wolves in action Friday, March 8, at the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Tennis Complex in Decatur.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men and women are both 6-5 on the season.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warrior Softball Opens MACJC Play With Sweep of Coahoma

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors opened 2019 MACJC conference play a big way, outscoring the Coahoma Lady Tigers 27-1 in a softball doubleheader sweep Thursday, March 7, at the Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex on the Coahoma campus in Clarksdale.

East Central won the opener 16-1 in five innings and then took the second game 11-0, also in five innings

The Lady Warriors are now 7-5 overall and 2-0 in MACJC play, while Coahoma falls to 0-8 and 0-2.

Nationally Ranked Jones Tennis Teams Sweep East Central

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ tennis teams dropped a pair of road matches to the nationally ranked Jones College tennis teams Wednesday, March 6, on the Jones campus in Ellisville.

The No. 25 ranked Jones Bobcats topped the Warriors 9-0, while the No. 17 ranked Lady Bobcats defeated the Lady Warriors 7-2.

The East Central men are now 5-5 on the season while the women are 6-4.

Warrior Baseball Splits Doubleheader at Northeast

March 7, 2019

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ baseball team traveled to Booneville Wednesday, March 6, and split a couple of non-league games against Northeast Mississippi Community College at Harold T. White Field at Booneville City Park.

East Central erased a five-run deficit in the first game of the day on its way to a 14-9 win. The Warriors lost a heartbreaker to Northeast in the seven-inning game two, giving up just one hit, a two-out, walk-off home run in a 3-2 loss to the Tigers.
