The �Ӱ���Ƶ women’s soccer team defeated Holmes Community College 4-0 Sept. 14 in North Division action at the Soccer Complex in Decatur.

The win against the Lady Bulldogs brings the �Ӱ���Ƶ to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in the division.

Both teams were undefeated going into the matchup.

Freshman forward Sierra Maness of Corinth High School began the scoring for the Lady Warriors with a first half goal.

After the half, Ashley Langham of Florence High School scored.

Northeast Mississippi Community College found the end-zone with 28 seconds left in the ballgame to pull out a 24-21 win against the �Ӱ���Ƶ in football action Thursday, Sept. 8, in Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus.

For the second straight week the Warriors faced a back and forth battle.

Northeast began the scoring with a 37-yard field goal to go up 3-0 with 5:30 left in the first quarter.

The �Ӱ���Ƶ women’s soccer team remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over Northwest Mississippi Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 7, in Senatobia.

�Ӱ���Ƶ’s lone goal was by freshman forward Eleanor Jones from New South Wales, Australia, in the first half.

In the men’s match, East Central’s Courtland Moore of Center Hill High School was able to find the net against Northwest in the first half. However, the Warriors fell to the Rangers 4-1.

With wins over visiting Itawamba Community College, the �Ӱ���Ƶ women’s and men’s soccer teams are 1-0 in Mississippi Association of Junior and Community Colleges North Division action. 

The Lady Warriors are now 3-0 overall on the season with the 2-0 victory over ICC Friday, Sept. 2, on the Decatur campus.

The East Central Tennis Association of Decatur has made a $7,864.09 donation to �Ӱ���Ƶ’s new tennis complex project.

Members of the ECTA board were on the East Central campus recently to present college president Dr. Billy Stewart with a check.

The �Ӱ���Ƶ Warrior football team lost a hard-fought ballgame in front of a standing room only crowd during “Black-Out” night at Bailey Stadium Sept. 1 on the Decatur campus.

The Warriors scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to close the gap, but eventually fell to the Holmes Community College Bulldogs 48-40 during opening week of Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges play.

�Ӱ���Ƶ will honor all military veterans with free admission, recognition, and tailgating when the Warrior football team hosts Northeast Mississippi Community College on Thursday, Sept. 8.

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. in Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus.

All military veterans and their families will be admitted free to the MACJC battle and are invited to participate in Warrior Club tailgating activities scheduled on the deck inside Bailey Stadium beginning at 5:30 p.m.

�Ӱ���Ƶ Will ‘Black-Out Bailey’ at Thursday’s Season Opening Football Game

The �Ӱ���Ƶ Warriors will open their 2016 football season Thursday, Sept. 1, against Holmes Community College, and all Warrior fans are encouraged to wear black to the annual “Black-Out Bailey” night.
