ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Women’s Soccer Team Keeps Streak Alive With Victory Over Southwest

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ women’s soccer team moved to 7-0 on the season after winning a non-division rematch against the Southwest Mississippi Community College Lady Bears Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus.

Southwest jumped out to the early lead, but East Central freshman Cailee Helen McClain of Starkville High School was able to tie the game with 31 minutes left in the first half.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Women’s Soccer Team Moves to 6-0 on the Season

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ women’s soccer team moved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the MACJC North Division after defeating Hinds Community College Friday, Sept. 16, in Raymond.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ kept its unbeaten streak alive with a 6-2 victory over Lady Eagles.

Freshman forward Sierra Maness of Corinth High School began the scoring in the first half for the second game in a row to help East Central take the early lead.

Hinds tied the game up with 34 minutes left in the first half before ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ ran away with the lead.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Women’s Soccer Remains Undefeated With Shutout of Holmes

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ women’s soccer team defeated Holmes Community College 4-0 Sept. 14 in North Division action at the Soccer Complex in Decatur.

The win against the Lady Bulldogs brings the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in the division.

Both teams were undefeated going into the matchup.

Freshman forward Sierra Maness of Corinth High School began the scoring for the Lady Warriors with a first half goal.

After the half, Ashley Langham of Florence High School scored.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s Women’s Soccer Wins Fourth Straight with Shutout of Northwest

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ women’s soccer team remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over Northwest Mississippi Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 7, in Senatobia.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s lone goal was by freshman forward Eleanor Jones from New South Wales, Australia, in the first half.

In the men’s match, East Central’s Courtland Moore of Center Hill High School was able to find the net against Northwest in the first half. However, the Warriors fell to the Rangers 4-1.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated With Road Win

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ women’s soccer team went on the road Aug. 26 and came home with a 3-0 shutout win over Southwest Mississippi Community College in a match played in Summit.

The Lady Warriors are now 2-0 on the young season. It is the fourth straight year the team has started out at least 2-0.

Scoring for East Central were Ashley Langham, a product of Florence High School, Kenzie Jenkins of McLaurin High School, and TaNissa McNair, who prepped at Forest High School.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Soccer Teams Post Wins Against Co-Lin

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s soccer teams both posted wins over Copiah-Lincoln Community College in season opening matches played Aug. 25 at the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Soccer Field on the Decatur campus.

The East Central women posted a high scoring 12-0 shutout victory over the visiting Co-Lin women’s soccer team.

The East Central men pulled out a 5-2 victory in the nightcap against the Wolves.

East Central sports teams receive NJCAA team academic honors

Seven ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ varsity sports teams earned National Junior College Athletic Association Academic Team of the Year honorable mention awards for having met the grade-point average requirement of 3.00 or better for the 2015-16 season.
 
The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Diamond Warrior baseball team finished with a 3.43 GPA and ranked sixth overall.
 
The women’s basketball team also earned an honorable mention award, finishing with a 3.0 GPA.
