The duo was tabbed All-MACCC (Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference) for their strong play throughout the 2022 season.</p> <p>Rouchon, a freshman from Perksinton, earned Second Team All-MACCC recognition as a defensive back. Despite playing as a defender, Rouchon picked up five points on the year as she netted a pair of goals and picked up an assist in the Lady Warriors' 4-0 victory over Southwest early in the season.&nbsp;</p> <p>“Torrance has come in and solidified herself as a top defender, and works tirelessly every day to improve,” said ӰƵ head coach Ryan Joiner. “Her being named All-MACCC is a very well-deserved honor.”</p> <p>Wells earned an Honorable Mention nod for her play at midfield this year. The sophomore from Poplarville started in 15 games for the Lady Warriors and scored two goals, one against the Mississippi University for Women and another against Oxford College. She also posted an assist in the game against The W and another against Southwest.&nbsp;</p> <p>“Juliana is a model student-athlete at EC, and her hard work off the field preparing for the year showed throughout the season,” said Joiner. “That effort and dedication are why she was selected All-MACCC, and again it is well deserved.”</p> <p>The Lady Warriors made the MACCC playoffs in 2022 after defeating Itawamba in a must-win season finale, 2-1. The No. 6 seeded Lady Warriors will travel to Senatobia to take on the No. 3 Northwest Lady Rangers on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m.</p> <p>The contest will not be streamed due to expected rain in the area, but fans can follow @ӰƵAthletics on Twitter for updates throughout the match.</p> <p>The Warriors also enter the playoffs as the No. 6 seed. The team is set to travel to Poplarville on Sunday, Oct. 30, to take on the No. 3 Wildcats at 7 p.m. More information about live stream links will be released when it becomes available.</p> <p>Playoffs are set up differently this year as the MACCC no longer has north and south divisions for soccer. The highly anticipated match did not disappoint as the nationally ranked programs finished the MACCC contest in a 1-1 draw.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">"Tonight's game was one that featured two sound teams and we are happy in the end with a point going into our next conference game," said head coach Ryan Joiner. "Northwest is a very good team who caused us lots of problems, but our plan tactically was well-driven and executed by the girls. Onto the next one which will be another challenging MACCC game."</p> <p dir="ltr">It was a back-and-forth battle in the first half as both teams jockeyed for possessions. The Lady Warriors broke through nine minutes into the match as&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ecccathletics.com/sports/wsoc/2022-23/bios/falla_gabby_zj23">Gabby Falla</a>&nbsp;(Hattiesburg) launched a free kick into the box. ӰƵ's&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ecccathletics.com/sports/wsoc/2022-23/bios/gregory_crislyn_g84h">Crislyn Gregory</a>&nbsp;(Gautier) finished off the assist with a great finish to put the Lady Warriors in front 1-0.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">That score held as the teams battled the heat for the final 30-plus minutes of the opening half.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">In the second, the Lady Rangers found the equalizer off a corner kick in the 64th minute.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Lady Warriors and Lady Rangers duked it out for the remainder of regulation and into extra time with sound defense and impressive keeper play. The limited attacks and solid back-line play ended the game with a 1-1 draw.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">The Lady Warriors finished the night with 10 shots, eight of which were on goal, while Northwest posted 22 shots and 11 shots on goal. The loss drops the Lady Warriors to 3-2, 0-1 on the year, while the Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-0, 1-0.&nbsp;</p> <p>"It was a tough game against a quality opponent in Holmes," said ӰƵ head coach Ryan Joiner. "Our girls were up for it from the start, but two penalty kicks from mistakes and a third goal from Holmes sealed their win. We had plenty of chances to equalize when down 2-0, but we weren't clinical enough with our chances."</p> <p>The Lady Bulldogs got on the board 20 minutes into the contest, but that lead grew to 2-0 before half as&nbsp;Brianna Lopez knocked in a penalty kick just 17 minutes later.&nbsp;</p> <p>That 2-0 lead went into the locker room during the half, and the Lady Warriors came out firing in the second but were unable to find the back of the net.&nbsp;</p> <p>ӰƵ finished the day with 22 shots, seven of them landing on goal, but were unable to get on the scoreboard. The win kept the Lady Warriors record perfect as the team moved to 3-0, while the Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-2.</p> <p>"Again we are happy with a win, but we have to do better in certain aspects of defending, especially after creating so many chances early on," said ӰƵ head coach Ryan Joiner. "We continue to improve each game and show desire to fight for one another with our third come-from-behind win, but we know once conference games start, those performances must be better, too."</p> <p>The Lady Bulldogs were the first team on the board as MGCCC's Skyler Vance scored with less than five minutes remaining in the opening half.
