�Ӱ��Ƶ's women’s soccer program had two players earn post-season honors, Torrance Rouchon and Juliana Wells. The duo was tabbed All-MACCC (Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference) for their strong play throughout the 2022 season.

Rouchon, a freshman from Perksinton, earned Second Team All-MACCC recognition as a defensive back. Despite playing as a defender, Rouchon picked up five points on the year as she netted a pair of goals and picked up an assist in the Lady Warriors' 4-0 victory over Southwest early in the season.

“Torrance has come in and solidified herself as a top defender, and works tirelessly every day to improve,” said �Ӱ��Ƶ head coach Ryan Joiner. “Her being named All-MACCC is a very well-deserved honor.”

Wells earned an Honorable Mention nod for her play at midfield this year. The sophomore from Poplarville started in 15 games for the Lady Warriors and scored two goals, one against the Mississippi University for Women and another against Oxford College. She also posted an assist in the game against The W and another against Southwest.

“Juliana is a model student-athlete at EC, and her hard work off the field preparing for the year showed throughout the season,” said Joiner. “That effort and dedication are why she was selected All-MACCC, and again it is well deserved.”

The Lady Warriors made the MACCC playoffs in 2022 after defeating Itawamba in a must-win season finale, 2-1. �Ӱ��Ƶ fell to Northwest in the Gulf South District quarterfinals, 3-0, to finish the year 8-7-2, 3-5-2.

The �Ӱ��Ƶ soccer teams have finalized their playoff matchups for the NJCAA Gulf South District quarterfinals. The No. 6 seeded Lady Warriors will travel to Senatobia to take on the No. 3 Northwest Lady Rangers on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m.

The contest will not be streamed due to expected rain in the area, but fans can follow @�Ӱ��ƵAthletics on Twitter for updates throughout the match.

The Warriors also enter the playoffs as the No. 6 seed. The team is set to travel to Poplarville on Sunday, Oct. 30, to take on the No. 3 Wildcats at 7 p.m. More information about live stream links will be released when it becomes available.

Playoffs are set up differently this year as the MACCC no longer has north and south divisions for soccer. Each team played every MACCC opponent one time with points awarded for a win or draw. The overall winner earned a bye into the tournament, while teams seeded two through seven will take part in the play-in games at the higher seed's home venue. The winners of those three games will join the No. 1 seeds (Holmes on the women's side and Jones on the men's side) for a three-day, four-team NJCAA Region 23/Gulf South District Championship which will be held at Jones College (the men's overall winner).

The �Ӱ��Ƶ soccer teams are on the road today as the teams travel to Itawamba in Fulton to face the Lady Indians and Indians. The matches both have major playoff implications.

For the women, the match is a must-win. A victory will propel the Lady Warriors to 6th place in the MACCC standings and set the Lady Warriors up with a meeting at Northwest for the first round of the playoffs. A loss or draw would eliminate �Ӱ��Ƶ from playoff contention.

The men's team has locked their spot in the playoffs, but the match against ICC can change seeding. With a victory, the Warriors will take on Gulf Coast in the first round as the No. 5 seed, while a loss or draw would have the Warriors taking on Pearl River as the No. 6 seed.

The No. 17 Lady Warriors of �Ӱ��Ƶ and the No. 10 Lady Rangers of the Northwest Mississippi battled it out in Decatur on Tuesday night, Sept. 20. The highly anticipated match did not disappoint as the nationally ranked programs finished the MACCC contest in a 1-1 draw.

"Tonight's game was one that featured two sound teams and we are happy in the end with a point going into our next conference game," said head coach Ryan Joiner. "Northwest is a very good team who caused us lots of problems, but our plan tactically was well-driven and executed by the girls. Onto the next one which will be another challenging MACCC game."

It was a back-and-forth battle in the first half as both teams jockeyed for possessions. The Lady Warriors broke through nine minutes into the match as Gabby Falla (Hattiesburg) launched a free kick into the box. �Ӱ��Ƶ's Crislyn Gregory (Gautier) finished off the assist with a great finish to put the Lady Warriors in front 1-0.

That score held as the teams battled the heat for the final 30-plus minutes of the opening half.

In the second, the Lady Rangers found the equalizer off a corner kick in the 64th minute.

The Lady Warriors and Lady Rangers duked it out for the remainder of regulation and into extra time with sound defense and impressive keeper play. The limited attacks and solid back-line play ended the game with a 1-1 draw.

The Lady Warriors finished the night with 10 shots, eight of which were on goal, while Northwest posted 22 shots and 11 shots on goal. �Ӱ��Ƶ defended well in their own box as the Lady Rangers sent in 15 corner kicks compared to �Ӱ��Ƶ's two.

�Ӱ��Ƶ is on the road this Friday, Sept. 23, as the Lady Warriors travel to Perkinston to take on Mississippi Gulf Coast. The match is set to start at 5 p.m.

The No. 13 �Ӱ��Ƶ Lady Warrior soccer team dropped the 2022 MACCC opener against No. 4 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs, 3-0, on Friday, Sept. 16. The loss drops the Lady Warriors to 3-2, 0-1 on the year, while the Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-0, 1-0.

"It was a tough game against a quality opponent in Holmes," said �Ӱ��Ƶ head coach Ryan Joiner. "Our girls were up for it from the start, but two penalty kicks from mistakes and a third goal from Holmes sealed their win. We had plenty of chances to equalize when down 2-0, but we weren't clinical enough with our chances."

The Lady Bulldogs got on the board 20 minutes into the contest, but that lead grew to 2-0 before half as Brianna Lopez knocked in a penalty kick just 17 minutes later.

That 2-0 lead went into the locker room during the half, and the Lady Warriors came out firing in the second but were unable to find the back of the net.

�Ӱ��Ƶ finished the day with 22 shots, seven of them landing on goal, but were unable to get on the scoreboard. Lopez pushed the Holmes advantage to 3-0 midway through the second half on yet another PK to solidify the win.

Jade Brown (Canberra, Australia) and Crislyn Gregory (Gautier) led the Lady Warriors with two shots on goal each, while Ashton Rupert (Long Beach) played all 90 minutes in goal.

The Lady Warriors are back at home on Tuesday, Sept. 20, as the team takes on Northwest Mississippi Community College at the �Ӱ��Ƶ Soccer Complex at 5 p.m. in the first-ever night game at the facility under the new lights on campus.

The No. 13 ranked �Ӱ��Ƶ Lady Warriors fell to the South Georgia State College Lady Hawks on Monday, Sept. 12, as the teams met at the Folmar Soccer Complex in Montgomery, Ala. The 2-1 loss to the NJCAA DI program drops the Lady Warriors to 3-1 on the year, while the Lady Hawks improve to 3-1.

"It was nice to play a team who showed us a challenge and helped us find our weaknesses going into conference games this week," said �Ӱ��Ƶ head coach Ryan Joiner. "We have a few days to prepare for a tough game away at Holmes and will get prepared for a tough conference schedule ahead."

South Georgia took the lead just 15 minutes into the match as Taylor Underwood found the goal. The Lady Warriors got a couple of shots in the half but were unable to find the back of the net, taking the 1-0 deficit to the half.

A goal booked as an own-goal allowed the Lady Hawks to grow their lead to 2-0 with just 30 minutes remaining in the contest, but eight minutes later �Ӱ��Ƶ's Atley Thompson (Starkville) cut that advantage in half as she capitalized on a Jade Brown (Canberra, Australia) assist.

Unfortunately, it was the last goal for the Lady Warriors in the Yellowhammer state as the match went final, 2-1.

�Ӱ��Ƶ begins conference play on Friday, Sept. 16, as the Lady Warriors travel to Holmes to face the No. 4 Holmes Lady Bulldogs. The match is set for 1 p.m.

The newly ranked No. 13 �Ӱ��Ƶ Lady Warrior soccer team flexed their muscles on Wednesday night, Sept. 7, as the team downed the Mississippi Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs, 2-1. The win kept the Lady Warriors record perfect as the team moved to 3-0, while the Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-2.

"Again we are happy with a win, but we have to do better in certain aspects of defending, especially after creating so many chances early on," said �Ӱ��Ƶ head coach Ryan Joiner. "We continue to improve each game and show desire to fight for one another with our third come-from-behind win, but we know once conference games start, those performances must be better, too."

The Lady Bulldogs were the first team on the board as MGCCC's Skyler Vance scored with less than five minutes remaining in the opening half. The goal, came off one of very few Gulf Coast shots as the Lady Warriors kept possession for the majority of the opening frame.

Minutes later, �Ӱ��Ƶ's Trinity Barden (Kent, United Kingdom) took advantage of a great pass from Karlie Denius (Picayune). The equalizer found the back of the net with just 12 seconds remaining in the first period.

The Lady Warriors' offensive pressure and midfield control were on display again in the second half as �Ӱ��Ƶ continued to control the majority of possessions. That pressure eventually paid off with a Kara Wager (Lucedale) goal from a Jade Brown (Canberra, Australia) assist. The goal, which came in the 55th minute, put the Lady Warriors in front, 2-1. A score that would hold to the end of the match as �Ӱ��Ƶ buckled down on the defensive end of the pitch.

�Ӱ��Ƶ finished the night with 22 shots, and a whopping 50 percent of them on goal. The Lady Bulldogs posted five shots on the night with one on goal. Ashton Rupert (Long Beach) went the distance in goal for the Lady Warriors in the win.

The Lady Warriors will be back in action on Monday, Sept. 12, as the team travels to the Folmer Soccer Complex in Montgomery, Ala. to face South Georgia State College. The match is slated for a 2 p.m. kick off.

The No. 15 �Ӱ��Ƶ Lady Warriors moved to 2-0 on the 2022 season as they traveled to Memphis, Tenn., Sept.1 and took down the Columbia State Chargers, 2-1, at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

"It was an overall team performance today with lots of girls getting minutes," said Lady Warrior head coach Ryan Joiner. "Columbia state caused us a few issues in the first half and we're awarded with the lead, but I thought the girls responded well in the 2nd half to battle back and score two good goals. Our depth has definitely been used well so far this season and we're just excited to come home with a win against a good team."

The Chargers' pressure in the first half allowed the team to a 1-0 lead 16 minutes into the half, a score that would hold until the break, but the Lady Warriors responded with a pair of goals in the second.

�Ӱ��Ƶ's Jade Brown (Canberra, Australia) found the back of the net off a Micah Benson (Olive Branch) assist just four minutes into the second half of play.

Abby Regan (Petal) followed later in the contest, at the 82-minute mark, with a go-ahead goal off a Kara Wager (Lucedale) assist.

The Lady Warriors posted 19 shots, nine of which were on goal, while holding Columbia State to just seven shots with two on goal.

Ashton Rupert (Long Beach) picked up the win in the net with one save and one goal allowed.

The Lady Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 7, as �Ӱ��Ƶ plays host to Mississippi Gulf Coast in a non-conference matchup in Decatur at 5 p.m.

The �Ӱ��Ƶ men’s and women’s soccer matches against the Mississippi University for Women have new kickoff times and a new location due to all the rain in the area.

The Lady Warriors and Warriors were originally planning to travel to Columbus to face off with the Owls at 1 and 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, but those game times have moved up to 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and the matches will be played at the Sportsplex located in Starkville on the turf playing surfaces.

The Lady Warriors come into the match off a 4-0 win over Southwest on Monday, while the Warriors enter off a 7-0 defeat to Itawamba on Tuesday. Both matches were non-conference. The �Ӱ��Ƶ Lady Warriors moved to 1-0 on the 2022 season on Monday, Aug. 22, with a 4-0 victory over the Southwest Mississippi Community College Lady Bears (0-1).

"Overall, it was a solid performance to begin the season, and happy to see three freshmen get on the scoresheet after a scoreless preseason," said Lady Warrior head coach Ryan Joiner. "Lots to work on and areas to improve, but as always, we're delighted to have our first win."

The Lady Warriors lept out to a 1-0 lead as freshman Jade Brown (Canberra, Australia) netted a goal in the seventh minute of the contest.

The �Ӱ��Ƶ advantage grew to 2-0 later in the half when Torrance Rouchon (Perkinston) found the back of the net on a rebound.

The Lady Warriors took that 2-0 lead into the locker room after controlling the contest and keeping the ball on their end of the pitch for the majority of the first 45 minutes.

Rouchon went on to stretch that lead to 3-0 as she netted her second of the night with just 17 minutes remaining in the contest.

The Lady Warrior's offense continued to put pressure on the Lady Bears up to the end of the match as Karlie Denius (Picayune) got in on the scoring action with a late-game score to push the final score to 4-0. Rouchon, Lexi Green (Lucedale), and Juliana Wells (Poplarville) all had assists in the contest.

The Lady Warriors finished the match with 20 shots, nine of which were on goal, while Ashton Rupert (Long Beach) picked up a clean sheet in goal with one save.

"We will see how things progress over the coming weeks before conference play begins," said Joiner, adding, "Southwest will improve and the conference as a whole will be tough."

The Lady Warriors are back on the road on Friday, Aug. 25 as the team travels to Columbus to take on the Mississippi University of Women at 1 p.m.
