The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s soccer teams dropped a pair of matches to Jones County Junior College in action Friday, Aug. 24, on the JCJC campus in Ellisville.
The Jones County Lady Bobcats took a 4-0 shutout win over the East Central Lady Warriors in the opener, while the Jones County men won the second game 5-2.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s soccer teams lost a pair of preseason exhibition matches by identical scores at Meridian Community College Friday, Aug. 17.
The Lady Warriors fell to the Meridian Lady Eagles 2-1 in the opening match of the night. East Central fell behind 2-0 in the first half and could not recover.
The lone Lady Warrior goal came on a penalty kick from sophomore midfielder Carrington Payne out of Richland High School.

An open tryout for the 2018 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s soccer team will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at the soccer pitch on the Decatur campus, announced head men’s soccer coach Kenneth Thompson.
Registration will be held at the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building beginning at 1 p.m.
Players will need to bring their own equipment to workout in for the day. All players will have to sign a waiver of liability in order to participate in the tryouts.

Four members of the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s soccer team and three members of the women’s soccer team have been chosen to compete in the 2017 MACJC All-Star Soccer matches Saturday, Nov. 11, at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland. The women’s match is set for 2 p.m., with the men’s match to follow at 4:30 p.m.

The season came to an end for the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s soccer team Saturday, Oct. 28, with a 3-0 loss to Pearl River Community College in the semifinals of the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges State/National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 Tournament played at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.
Pearl River scored three second half goals to break a scoreless halftime tie to get the win and advance to the tournament finals.
