�Ӱ��Ƶ had two men’s soccer players earn post-season hardware for their play on the pitch throughout the 2022 season. �Ӱ��Ƶ defender Noah Shockley and forward Evan Reape both got the nod as Honorable Mention All-MACCC (Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference) selections.

Shockley, a sophomore from Long Beach, was the vocal leader for the Warriors on the backline the entire season. His efforts helped the Warriors pick up two shutout victories on the season.

“Noah was a leader for this team both on and off the field,” said head coach Ethan Paschal. “He constantly strives for greatness, and the hard work that he puts in shows on the field, and this honor is very well deserved.”

Reape was a goal-scorer for the Warriors this season as he netted eight goals, including a staggering four-goal performance against Northwest.

"Evan has been a goal threat all season. His quality in the final third was crucial on our road to the playoffs," said Paschal.

The Warriors finished the season 5-7 overall and 5-5 in MACCC play, earning a spot in the Gulf South District quarterfinals. �Ӱ��Ƶ fell to Pearl River, 3-0, to close out the season.

The �Ӱ��Ƶ soccer teams have finalized their playoff matchups for the NJCAA Gulf South District quarterfinals. The No. 6 seeded Lady Warriors will travel to Senatobia to take on the No. 3 Northwest Lady Rangers on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m.

The contest will not be streamed due to expected rain in the area, but fans can follow @�Ӱ��ƵAthletics on Twitter for updates throughout the match.

The Warriors also enter the playoffs as the No. 6 seed. The team is set to travel to Poplarville on Sunday, Oct. 30, to take on the No. 3 Wildcats at 7 p.m. More information about live stream links will be released when it becomes available.

Playoffs are set up differently this year as the MACCC no longer has north and south divisions for soccer. Each team played every MACCC opponent one time with points awarded for a win or draw. The overall winner earned a bye into the tournament, while teams seeded two through seven will take part in the play-in games at the higher seed's home venue. The winners of those three games will join the No. 1 seeds (Holmes on the women's side and Jones on the men's side) for a three-day, four-team NJCAA Region 23/Gulf South District Championship which will be held at Jones College (the men's overall winner).

The �Ӱ��Ƶ soccer teams are on the road today as the teams travel to Itawamba in Fulton to face the Lady Indians and Indians. The matches both have major playoff implications.

For the women, the match is a must-win. A victory will propel the Lady Warriors to 6th place in the MACCC standings and set the Lady Warriors up with a meeting at Northwest for the first round of the playoffs. A loss or draw would eliminate �Ӱ��Ƶ from playoff contention.

The men's team has locked their spot in the playoffs, but the match against ICC can change seeding. With a victory, the Warriors will take on Gulf Coast in the first round as the No. 5 seed, while a loss or draw would have the Warriors taking on Pearl River as the No. 6 seed.

Avery Anders had a stellar outing against Meridian last week as he poured in two goals in the Warriors' 3-2 victory over the Eagles.

Both of Anders' goals came on free kicks that he made from well outside of the box and propelled �Ӱ��Ƶ to the win.

The Warriors are back in action this Friday, Oct. 21, as the team plays host to Hinds for sophomore night at the Soccer Complex located on the north end of �Ӱ��Ƶ's campus in Decatur. The match is set to kickoff at 7 p.m.

�Ӱ��Ƶ soccer forward Evan Reape (Ballina, Ireland) had a career night in �Ӱ��Ƶ's 4-0 win over Northwest Sept. 20. Reape netted all four Warrior goals, with two of the scores coming in the first 10 minutes of the contest, to earn Warrior of the Week honors.

The goals pushed Reape's season total of goals to five as he scored one in the Warriors' 2-1 win over Holmes. To this point, Reape has 15 shots with 11 of them landing on goal.

The Warriors lost to Gulf Coast later in the week in a tough 1-0 overtime match to move to 2-2, 2-1 on the season. �Ӱ��Ƶ is back home this Tuesday, Sept. 27, as the team plays host to Pearl River at 7 p.m. at the �Ӱ��Ƶ Soccer Complex.

The �Ӱ��Ƶ Warriors and Warrior striker Evan Reape (Ballina, Ireland) were on fire on Tuesday night, Sept. 20, as the team defeated the Northwest Mississippi Rangers, 4-0, in an MACCC matchup. The win moved the Warriors to 2-0 in conference play, while the Rangers fell to 0-2.

Fans barely had time to find their seats in the nightcap before Reape found the back of the net in the opening minutes of play. Reape got a great assist from Karim Swedi (Arusha, Tanzania) to put �Ӱ��Ƶ on top 1-0.

Just four minutes later, Reape was on the attack again and after a great touch, poured his second goal of the night past the keeper. Just five minutes into play, �Ӱ��Ƶ led, 2-0. Reape had a chance for a hat trick within the first 10 minutes of play, but a header opportunity went just wide. That did not stop the freshman though as he scored yet again, his third goal of the half, 28 minutes into the match.

The Warriors took that 3-0 lead into the break, but Reape added another goal, this time off an assist from Jashil Vithal (Johannesburg, South Africa) in the 51st minute to grow the lead to the final, 4-0, score.

"I'm very pleased with the boys performance tonight. They executed in the moments we really needed them to and saw the game out," said �Ӱ��Ƶ head coach Ethan Paschal. "It's always a good thing when your striker is scoring goals so we're buzzing for Evan [Reape]. We have details to smooth out so we'll do that before heading into our next match."

Marcelo Ramirez (Metepec, Mexico) played all 90 minutes in goal for �Ӱ��Ƶ and posted four saves in the match. Reape finished the night with four goals on seven shots on goal, while the Warriors as a whole posted 23 shots with 12 landing on goal.

The Warriors travel to Perkinston on Friday, Sept. 23, to face the Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs in a conference matchup at 7 p.m. before returning to Decatur on Tuesday, Sept. 27 to host Pearl River at 7 p.m.

The Warriors of �Ӱ��Ƶ evened out their 2022 record to 1-1 on Friday, Sept. 16, but more importantly, got the first MACCC win of the season as the Warriors downed Holmes Community College 2-1. Holmes moved to 1-1, 0-1 with the loss.

"We started the game really well playing at pace and creating some really good chances," said Warrior head coach Ethan Paschal. "We have to do better at putting those chances away early, but we managed to get two before half which was great for momentum. The second half was a very chippy game that we had to defend with grit against a very direct opposition – overall I'm pleased with the boy's performance and we'll go again on Tuesday."

The Warriors and Bulldogs met in an exhibition that ended in a 3-3 tie back in August, but the Warriors took care of business in the conference matchup.

Late in the first half �Ӱ��Ƶ's Evan Reape (Ballina, Ireland) took advantage of a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead. Just moments later, Stanley Trzaska (Long Beach) ripped a freekick from near midfield at the buzzer. The goal pushed the lead to 2-0 going into the half.

Holmes got one goal back in the opening minutes of the second half, but the Warrior defense shut down the Bulldogs for the final 40 minutes of the match to secure the win.

The Warriors are back at home on Tuesday, Sept. 20, as the team takes on Northwest Mississippi Community College at the �Ӱ��Ƶ Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. in the first-ever night game at the facility under the new lights on campus.

East Central's men's soccer home match against Andrew College, originally slated for Saturday, Sept. 3 at 4 p.m., has been cancelled. At this time, there is no makeup date scheduled.

The Warriors will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 9 as the team travels to William Carey to take on the Crusaders at 4 p.m., before traveling to Holmes the following Friday, Sept. 16 with a 3 p.m. kickoff.

The �Ӱ��Ƶ men’s and women’s soccer matches against the Mississippi University for Women have new kickoff times and a new location due to all the rain in the area.

The Lady Warriors and Warriors were originally planning to travel to Columbus to face off with the Owls at 1 and 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, but those game times have moved up to 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and the matches will be played at the Sportsplex located in Starkville on the turf playing surfaces.

The Lady Warriors come into the match off a 4-0 win over Southwest on Monday, while the Warriors enter off a 7-0 defeat to Itawamba on Tuesday. Both matches were non-conference. The �Ӱ��Ƶ Warrior soccer team fell to the Itawamba Indians, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 23, in a rainy non-conference matchup. The loss drops the Warriors to 0-1 on the year, while the Indians improve to 1-0.

ICC scored early and often in the opening minutes to jump out to a 3-0 advantage in the first 20 minutes of play. That lead stretched to 5-0 in the final minutes of the first half.

The Warriors had some strong attacks in the second half and had some scoring opportunities, but failed to find the back of the net. The Indians knocked in two more goals, one on a header and the other on a chip shot over the keeper's hands.

Two Ahead

The Warriors will be on the road on Friday, Aug. 26, as the team travels to Columbus to take on the Mississippi University for Women. Kickoff has been moved to 12 p.m. from the original 3 p.m. start time.

�Ӱ��Ƶ will be back at home on Saturday, Sept. 3, as the Warriors play host to Andrew College at 4 p.m.
