Home Runs Help Power No. 4 Itawamba to a Doubleheader Sweep Over East Central

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ had held its own recently against nationally ranked teams, but the visiting Itawamba Indians overpowered the Warriors in a couple of MACJC baseball games Monday, April 15, at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur.

No. 4 ranked Itawamba scored all its runs in two innings to win the opener 12-4 by run-rule in seven innings. The Indians scored eight runs in the first inning and then runs in every inning after that to win the nightcap 26-7. Itawamba hit six home runs in the two games.

East Central Baseball Wins Opener to Split Doubleheader at No. 7 Pearl River

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Warriors picked up a convincing win over the nation’s No. 7 ranked baseball team in game one of a doubleheader and then saw its hopes of a sweep end by an extra inning walk-off home run in the nightcap.

East Central defeated No. 7 Pearl River 8-2 in the opening game of an MACJC baseball doubleheader Wednesday, April 10, at Dub Herring Park on the PRCC campus in Poplarville, before the Wildcats won the second game 2-1 in dramatic fashion.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Warrior Baseball Splits Road Doubleheader at Southwest

The Southwest Bears erased a four-run deficit in game one to take a 5-4 win, before the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ bats came alive in game two and the Warriors grabbed an 11-1 run-rule win in six innings for the doubleheader split Wednesday, March 27, on the Southwest campus in Summit.

With the MACJC doubleheader split, East Central is now 11-11 overall on the season and 4-4 in MACJC play. Southwest is 10-11 overall and 2-6 in the conference.
