Warrior Soccer Earns 3-2 Win Over Northwest

October 13, 2021

The Warriors of ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ grabbed their first North Division win on the road in Senatobia as the team took down the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers, 3-2. The Warriors move to 2-9-1 overall on the year and to 1-4 in division play.

The men got off to an even quicker start than the Lady Warriors who scored in the first 37 seconds of the first match of the day. ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ's  (Wiggins) picked up his first goal of the season off a  (Johannesburg, South Africa) assist at the 27-second mark. Just seven minutes later the Rangers were on the board and tied the game at 1-1, but (Long Beach) took advantage of a deflection off the crossbar and knocked in his first goal of the year midway through the first half. The goal put the Warriors on top 2-1.  (Gulfport) joined in on the first-goal play as he netted his first goal of the year with just 15 seconds remaining in the half. The goal allowed the Warriors to take a 3-1 lead into the locker room.

The second half was very defensive as the Warriors hung on to their two-goal advantage. Northwest got one goal back with 19 minutes remaining, but the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ defense prevented any other goals securing the 3-2 division win.
