Phi Theta Kappa Honored at Regional Conference

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Theta Xi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa competed in the annual Mississippi/Louisiana Regional Conference held at Mississippi State University.  

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for two-year colleges. PTK offers recognition of academic excellence, scholarships, career placement resources, leadership development, and service opportunities. ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s Theta Xi chapter inducted 90 new members into the organization this semester.  

In the Mississippi/Louisiana Region there are approximately 40 chapters, with 30 active chapters present at the conference.  

East Central’s Theta Xi chapter won the following awards: 

Hallmark College Project Awards: 3rd Most Distinguished (College Project in the Region) 

Hallmark Honors in Action Distinguished Theme Awards: Most Distinguished in Theme 2 - Economics of Play (Honors in Action Project) 

Horizon Award for Advisors: Tanner Felton, Renee Boggan, and Amanda Walton  

Golden Key Award Recipient: Jocey Bell
