The Lady Warriors of ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ fell to 0-1 in conference play on Thursday night, Dec. 2, as the Pearl River Lady Wildcats remained undefeated on the year with a 76-49 victory. ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ drops to 4-4 on the season, while PRCC moved to 7-0.
The Lady Wildcats got out in front early Thursday night, but ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ hung around and kept the game with five points. Late in the first quarter, PRCC fired off three, three-pointers to push the lead to double-digits, 24-8. The Lady Warriors continue to fight on both ends of the floor and strung together a 6-0 run in the second quarter to pull the game back to single digits and take a nine-point, 36-27, deficit into the break.
The lead went further into Pearl River's favor in the third quarter as ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ was outpaced, 21-11, which put the Lady Wildcats in control and eventually secured the victory.
(Dallas, Texas) and (Brighton, Tenn.) posted double-digit performances for ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ with Taylor scoring 13 and Jones adding 11. Pearl River was led by 17 points from Keshunti Nichols. ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ shot 32 percent from the field but went 8-for-17 from three-point land for 47 percent. PRCC was 50 percent from the floor and 43 percent from long-range. The Lady Warriors capitalized on trips to the free-throw stripe, making 9-of-11 shots for 82 percent, a season-high.
