One goal was the difference-maker on Friday afternoon, August 27, as the East Central Lady Warriors held on to defeat the Southwest Mississippi Lady Bears, 1-0.
"We are excited for another win, but have to be more complete to play 90 minutes," said ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ head coach Ryan Joiner. "We really had a great first half from our girls, and created nine chances but were only able to find one goal," said Joiner. "It was a great goal from off a cross from . Yesterday was a crossing and finishing session and the goal looked very much like the buildup and pattern that we practiced on the training field."
The Lady Warriors finished with 15 shots on the day, with eight of them landing on goal. Moore put up a team-high four shots and two shots on goal. (Decatur) and the rest of the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ defensive front had a strong outing as they surrendered only eight shots. Four of the Lady Bear shots were on goal, but Clark had great saves on all of them.
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ makes the 2021 home debut next Tuesday, August 31 as the Mississippi University for Women travels to Decatur.
