ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Soccer Teams Drop Division Road Matches to Holmes

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors held No. 11 ranked Holmes Community College without a goal for the first 70 minutes of play before falling 2-0 to the Lady Bulldogs in a match played Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.

The Lady Warriors held the undefeated Lady Bulldogs to just two late goals in the loss. The Holmes women came into the match averaging nearly five goals per outing.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Adds Abdul Olusesi to Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff

Abdul Olusesi, most recently the director of basketball operations at Sam Houston State University, is the newest member of the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s basketball coaching staff.

Olusesi will serve as a student services assistant and volunteer assistant men’s basketball coach on the staff of head coach Robert Thompson beginning with the 2018-19 season.

Warrior Soccer Gets Back on Winning Track Against Northwest, Lady Warriors Fall

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Warriors snapped a five-match losing streak with a 5-2 soccer win over the visiting Northwest Rangers Friday, Oct. 5, at the Soccer Field on the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ campus in Decatur.

In the women’s match, the Lady Warriors dropped a 3-2 decision to the Northwest Lady Rangers.

East Central got a hat trick from the MACJC North Division’s leading scorer to defeat the Rangers. Sophomore midfielder Vitor Gomes from Fortaleza, Brazil, scored three goals to pace the Warriors in the 5-2 win.

East Central Soccer Teams Drop North Division Matches at Itawamba

The Itawamba men’s and women’s soccer teams picked up MACJC North Division wins over the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors and Warriors in matches played Wednesday, Oct. 3, on the ICC campus in Fulton.

The Lady Indians took the women’s match over East Central 5-4. The Lady Warriors fought back from a 3-1 deficit in the second half to move in front 4-3 with 19:43 to play. Itawamba would get the game-winner on a header with 1:36 to play.
