No. 12 Chipola Gets 70-57 Women’s Basketball Win Over ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors

The No. 12 ranked Chipola College Lady Indians defeated the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors 70-57 in women’s basketball action Friday, Nov. 22, on the Chipola campus in Marianna, Fla.

The two teams were tied 13-13 after one period, before the Lady Indians took a nine-point lead into the locker room at the half. Chipola surged to an 18-point lead after three periods before a strong final period by East Central closed the gap to the final 13-point margin.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Basketball Teams Bounce Back With Sweep at Holmes

Just three days after being swept on the road at East Mississippi, the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ men’s and women’s basketball teams responded with a road sweep over Holmes Community College Monday, Nov. 18, in Goodman.

The MACJC non-division games were played at the Frank Branch Coliseum on the Holmes campus.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors won the opener 83-59. The Warriors came out on top in the second game of the evening 87-75.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Basketball Teams Swept in Non-Division Action at East Mississippi

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ basketball teams made the short drive to Scooba Thursday, Nov. 14, and were swept by the homestanding East Mississippi Community College teams in MACJC non-division action.

The EMCC Lady Lions won the opener 73-57, while the East Central men fell 88-85 to the Lions.

The Lady Lions blew open a close game with a big second period. EMCC led the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors 17-16 after 10 minutes of play, before the Lady Lions went on a 21-6 run to take a 38-22 halftime lead and control of the game.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Warrior Basketball Falls 88-84 at Delgado

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Warriors got a combined 55 points from Nick Preyer and JaQuarius Smith but it wasn’t enough as the home-standing Delgado Dolphins picked up an 88-84 win at the Michael Williamson Center in New Orleans, La., on Monday, Nov. 11.

Delgado used a 15-2 run to close the first half to pull out to a 47-36 lead at intermission. The Warriors got as close as one point, trailing 81-80 with two minutes to play in the game, before Delgado sealed the four-point win.
