The No. 8 ranked ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Diamond Warriors moved to 5-1 on the season overall after beating Bossier Parish Community College of Louisiana 6-2 and falling to No. 17 Hinds Community College 6-5 on Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Raymond.

In game one against Hinds, the contest was tied 5-5 with Hinds batting in the bottom of the seventh when freshman right-handed pitcher Kolby Crowley of Winston Academy walked a Hinds batter to score the winning run.

Despite a career-high performance from Laneisha Jeans, the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Warriors fell 94-73 to the No. 16 nationally ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats Monday, Feb. 20, in Ellisville.

Jeans of Pine Forest (Fla.) High School led all scorers with a career–high of 25 points. Also, in double-digit scoring were Autumn Taylor of Newton High School with 17 points, six assists and four steals, and Curtisha Coleman of Wayne County High School with 15 points.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s basketball team fell 107-78 to No. 9 nationally ranked Jones County Junior College Monday, Feb. 20, in the Ellisville.

Jones jumped out to an early lead that they never surrendered throughout the game.

Jones led ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ 54-34 at the half.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s basketball team clinched an MACJC State Tournament berth with an 87-80 win over Pearl River Community College Thursday, Feb. 16, in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium in Decatur.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ women’s basketball team defeated the Pearl River Community College Lady Wildcats 78-69 Thursday, Feb. 16, in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium on the Decatur campus.

The No. 12 ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Warrior softball team picked up another sweep Wednesday, Feb. 16, this time over East Mississippi Community College in Scooba.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men’s and women’s tennis teams continued their journey on the road, this time in Wesson where the No. 22 ranked Warrior men’s team knocked off the No. 17 Copiah-Lincoln Wolves in a tight 5-4 match Wednesday, Feb. 15.

It was the Warriors third win this year against a top 25 opponent.

The East Central women fell to the Lady Wolves 7-2.

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ men are now 3-1 on the season, while the women are 1-3.
