�Ӱ���Ƶ sophomore defensive back Torran “Malik” Davis has been named the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Football Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Hinds Community College Saturday, Oct. 15.

Davis, a product of Red Bank (Tenn.) High School, had eight tackles and two key interceptions, including one he returned 23 yards for a touchdown.

The East Central football team is 4-3 on the season and 4-1 in the MACJC South Division.

The �Ӱ���Ƶ football team took advantage of six Hinds Community College turnovers to win a big MACJC South Division matchup 45-14 on homecoming in Bailey Stadium in Decatur Saturday, Oct. 15.

The victory over the Eagles improved the Warriors to 4-3 on the season and 4-1 in the South Division to remain at the top spot of the South.

The �Ӱ���Ƶ football team took over sole possession of first place in the MACJC South Division after beating nationally ranked No. 8 Jones County Junior County 37-24 Thursday, Oct. 6, in Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus.

Student recruiters from the University of Southern Mississippi Admissions Office will be on hand when the �Ӱ���Ƶ Warriors and Jones County Junior College Bobcats clash on the football field Thursday, Oct. 6. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. in Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus.

The �Ӱ���Ƶ football team held No. 18 Copiah-Lincoln Community College in check for three full quarters, before a fourth quarter surge by the Wolves resulted in a 34-23 win over the Warriors in Stone Stadium in Wesson Thursday, Sept. 29.

East Central led 23-7 in the fourth quarter before the Co-Lin Wolves scored the last 27 points of the game to pull out the win against the Warriors.

The �Ӱ���Ƶ Warrior football team ended a 13-game losing-streak to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs with a 42-28 victory in Bailey Stadium in Decatur Thursday, Sept. 22.

The last time �Ӱ���Ƶ beat Gulf Coast was in 2002 with a 28-21 win over the Bulldogs.
