Lady Warrior Basketball Drops Game to Jones on the Road

Despite a career-high performance from Laneisha Jeans, the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors fell 94-73 to the No. 16 nationally ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats Monday, Feb. 20, in Ellisville.

Jeans of Pine Forest (Fla.) High School led all scorers with a career–high of 25 points. Also, in double-digit scoring were Autumn Taylor of Newton High School with 17 points, six assists and four steals, and Curtisha Coleman of Wayne County High School with 15 points.

East Central Lady Warriors Fall 87-71 at Co-Lin

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors dropped an 87-71 basketball game to Copiah–Lincoln Community College in MACJC South Division action Monday, Feb. 13, in Wesson.

The first half featured a back and forth battle with the lead changing several times. ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ was able to pull ahead 19-18 after one quarter, but Coach Crandal Porter’s squad trailed Co-Lin 41-34 at the half.

After the intermission the game was all Co-Lin. 

East Central Women’s Basketball Grabs Win At Meridian

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ women’s basketball team fought off a Meridian Community College second half surge to beat MCC 78-74 Monday, Feb. 6, in Meridian.

The Lady Warriors led by double-digits most of the contest, and by as many as 16 in the first half, but the Lady Eagles battled back to trail by just one with 55 seconds left in the game.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Women’s Basketball Falls to Nationally Ranked Jones

Despite a double-double performance by Curtisha Coleman of Wayne County High School, the Lady Warriors fell 96-74 against the No. 21 nationally ranked Jones County Lady Bobcats Thursday, Jan. 26, in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium in Decatur.

Coleman led all scorers with a career–high of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Also, in double-digit scoring were Autumn Taylor of Newton High School with 17 points, Shantavis Hughes of Hattiesburg High School with 11 and Bryona Stewart of Itawamba Agricultural High School with 10 points.

Second Half Surge Helps ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Women’s Basketball Beat MGCCC

January 18, 2017

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warrior basketball team pulled out another MACJC South Division win this time against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Tuesday, Jan. 17, in Perkinston.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ trailed by two at the half, but with a strong second half performance the Lady Warriors defeated MGCCC 77-68.
