The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Lady Warriors fell to 1-2 over the weekend after losing to Jones College, 9-0.
Doubles play did not go in the Lady Warriors favor as (Bogota, Colombia) and (Bogota, Colombia) fell at No. 1 doubles to Mia Hoddinghaus and Judith Mills, 8-1. (Brandon) and (Decatur) teamed up at No. 2 doubles but lost 8-1 to Andrea Vlasceanu and Addy Seward, 8-1. (Kosciusko) and (Maben) played in the No. 3 slot and cell 8-2 to Ally Brooke Chism and Stori Endt.
"This is possibly the best team in the conference," said ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ head coach Jay Pacelli. "Despite the score, we had several players that improved their doubles play, and we are not discouraged as we look forward to Mississippi Gulf Coast."
In singles play Beltran fell to Vlasceanu at No. 1, 6-0, 6-1, while Vargas lost to Hoddinghaus at No. 2, 6-1, 6-1. Cline played in the No. 3 slot against Seward but fell 6-2, 6-2, and Moore lost to Mills at No. 4, 6-1, 6-0. Gregg faced Chism at No. 5 singles and lost 6-2, 6-0, while (Carthage) rounded out the action at No. 6 with a 6-2, 6-1 loss to Allie Johnson.
The Lady Warriors play host to Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. in Decatur.
