The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Lady Warriors moved to 1-0 on the 2022 season on Monday, Aug. 22, with a 4-0 victory over the Southwest Mississippi Community College Lady Bears (0-1).
"Overall, it was a solid performance to begin the season, and happy to see three freshmen get on the scoresheet after a scoreless preseason," said Lady Warrior head coach Ryan Joiner. "Lots to work on and areas to improve, but as always, we're delighted to have our first win."
The Lady Warriors lept out to a 1-0 lead as freshman (Canberra, Australia) netted a goal in the seventh minute of the contest.

The Lady Warrior's offense continued to put pressure on the Lady Bears up to the end of the match as (Picayune) got in on the scoring action with a late-game score to push the final score to 4-0. Rouchon, (Lucedale), and (Poplarville) all had assists in the contest.
The Lady Warriors finished the match with 20 shots, nine of which were on goal, while (Long Beach) picked up a clean sheet in goal with one save.
"We will see how things progress over the coming weeks before conference play begins," said Joiner, adding, "Southwest will improve and the conference as a whole will be tough."
