ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ's Cole Gray Wins National Pitcher of the Week Honors

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ freshman Cole Gray has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

A right-handed pitcher who prepped at Lamar School in Meridian, Gray was also named the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 13-19.

Gray picked up his first win as a Warrior in his first start against Coastal Alabama Community College (formerly Faulkner State) on Feb. 18 in the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Invitational in Decatur. He threw six innings, giving up one run, two hits, and striking out 10 batters. He gave up only one walk.

The No. 8 nationally ranked East Central Warriors are 5-1 on the young season and host the Rush Invitational Feb. 24-25 at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur. East Central will face Tyler Junior College (Texas) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, and Baton Rouge Community College (La.) at 7 p.m. that evening.
