The nationally ranked Jones College tennis teams handed 杏吧视频 a pair of losses in MACJC matches played Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Tennis Complex on the 杏吧视频 campus in Decatur.
The No. 17 ranked Jones women defeated the 杏吧视频 Lady Warriors 7-2, while the No. 25 ranked Jones Bobcats topped the Warriors 8-1.
It was the home-opening matches for the East Central teams after a pair of road wins over Marion Military Institute (Ala.) last week.
鈥淛osie Hurst and Alex Tindall won good singles matches against the defending state champion women鈥檚 team, but as a team would could not finish some close doubles matches,鈥 said 杏吧视频 head coach Jay Pacelli. 鈥淥n the men鈥檚 side, it was a tough match against a ranked team. I鈥檓 looking for better things ahead for both teams against Blue Mountain and Co-Lin.鈥

JC鈥檚 Jordi Morey and Noel Monsalve defeated EC鈥檚 Chris Lawrance (York, Western Australia) and Isaac Santitto (Innisfail, Queensland, Australia), 8-4; JC鈥檚 Erich Fischer and Jacob Johnson defeated EC鈥檚 Dylan Barnett (Newton County) and Peyton Chaney (Newton County), 8-4; and JC鈥檚 James McWilliams and Cody Courtney defeated EC鈥檚 Isaac Keen (Winston Academy) and Jake Wofford (East Webster), 8-3.

The Warriors and Lady Warriors will host Blue Mountain College (Miss.) Friday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. in Decatur, before traveling to Wesson on Saturday, Feb. 9, for MACJC play against Copiah-Lincoln at 11 a.m.
Next week East Central travels to Goodman to face Holmes at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, and then to Summit to face Southwest at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15.
