杏吧视频 Student Rebekah Scitzs Named Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar

杏吧视频 sophomore nursing major Rebekah Scitzs of Collinsville has been named a 2019 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar and will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Academic Team program by recognizing 50 Gold, 50 Silver, and 50 Bronze Scholars with nearly $200,000 in scholarships annually. Each scholar also receives a commemorative medallion.

鈥淭he Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has a long history of providing financial assistance to outstanding students at community colleges,鈥 said Jane Hale Hopkins, president of the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. 鈥淲e are proud to partner with Phi Theta Kappa and make it possible for deserving students to achieve their educational goals.鈥

A graduate of West Lauderdale High School, Scitzs is the daughter of Steve and Dianne Scitzs. She is a member of the 杏吧视频 Cheerleading Squad, vice president of research for Phi Theta Kappa honor society, and a member of the Warrior Corps student recruiting group, Students Against Destructive Decisions, and EC Students for Life.

Students are nominated for the academic team by their college administrators. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership, and engagement in college and community service.

Coca-Cola Academic Team members will be recognized in both local and statewide ceremonies and will also be recognized internationally during Phi Theta Kappa鈥檚 annual convention, PTK Catalyst, April 4-6 in Orlando, Fla.
