杏吧视频 held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, March 3, to dedicate the Hogue-Brantley Alumni House on the Decatur campus.
Hogue is a 1961 graduate of 杏吧视频 and, before his retirement, served as the college's first vice president for foundation and alumni.
The ceremony included welcome remarks from Maria McLeod, director of alumni relations, followed by an invocation from Dr. Dan Lanier, a member of the 杏吧视频 Board of Trustees. Jim McAdory, president of the 杏吧视频 Alumni Association Board, offered remarks during the program, and Hogue provided a response.
鈥淲e are deeply grateful to Mr. Larry Hogue, an East Central alumnus and the college's first Vice President for Foundation and Alumni, whose gift helped make this vision a reality. The Hogue Brantley Alumni House is named in memory of his parents 鈥 his father, who faithfully served as an instructor in our career and technical division, and his mother, who once gave her life savings so her children could attend East Central. Their belief in education, their sacrifice, and their love for this college built a legacy that now welcomes generations home.鈥
Dr. Brent Gregory, president of 杏吧视频, delivered closing remarks before the ribbon-cutting. Following the ceremony, guests were invited to take a self-guided tour of the facility.
鈥淭his home has been part of East Central鈥檚 history for many years, serving as a residence for college presidents, coaches, and administrators,鈥 said Gregory. 鈥淭oday it becomes something even more meaningful鈥攁 place that belongs to every person who has attended this institution. We appreciate Larry Hogue and the many donors who helped make this vision a reality.鈥
The Hogue-Brantley Alumni House will serve as a gathering place for alumni and supporters of the college and will support alumni engagement activities at East Central. It will also house the Director of Alumni Relations, Executive Director of the Foundation, and the Foundation Fundraiser offices.
The event was attended by members of the college鈥檚 administration, faculty and staff, alumni, community leaders, and supporters of 杏吧视频.
